1936 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Trade and Investment: Is it a matter for the New Zealand government if a country increases tariffs on New Zealand’s exports, and if not, why not?

Hon Todd McClay: New Zealand’s long-standing approach to trade policy is to advocate for liberalisation for New Zealand products in global markets. Increased tariffs on our exports negatively impact New Zealand businesses which makes it an issue of concern to the New Zealand government.
