Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Support palliative care training for the wider health care workforce’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. This includes New Zealanders who are seeking palliative care. I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, work on the National Palliative Care Work Programme continued to focus on developing consistent models of palliative care provision across New Zealand.
