1887 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred in the quarter towards the initiative to target messaging campaigns to prevent people, particularly youth, from taking up smoking, as included on page 12 of 'Getting to Smokefree 2025', as at 27 January 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the October - December 2024 quarter, sponsorship activities for the 2025 Smokefree Rockquest and Smokefree Tangata Beats competitions were organised. This long-standing sponsorship has been successful in providing positive messaging to prevent youth, including Māori and Pacific rangatahi, from smoking and vaping.
