1885 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred in the quarter towards the initiative to undertake 100% more compliance activity and issue 50% more infringement notices, as included on page 13 of 'Getting to Smokefree 2025', as at 27 January 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the October - December 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand completed 2832 compliance activities, which was double the activity for the same quarter in 2023. I am further advised that during the quarter, Health New Zealand sent 193 infringement files to the Ministry of Health, which exceeded the target of a 50% increase.
