1882 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has the Minister requested any reviews, reports, or root-cause analyses into the January 2026 IT outage affecting Auckland hospitals, and if not, why not?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand's standard approach following any outage is to undertake reviews and root-cause analyses. I am further advised that this is underway and stakeholders will be updated in due course. In addition to the standard post-incident review, Health NZ is also undertaking a review of the four incidents that occurred during January 2026 across the country.
