Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred in the quarter towards the initiative to strengthen ongoing community engagement through leveraging existing whānau, hapū, and iwi structures, as included on page 15 of 'Getting to Smokefree 2025', as at 27 January 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the October - December 2024 quarter, the Stop Smoking Services and Hāpai Te Hauora, which delivers Smokefree community mobilisations, engaged with communities, whānau, hāpu, and iwi to increase awareness of Smokefree 2025 and to encourage more people to quit smoking with support.
