1826 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 toward the priority indicator ‘Where possible, disaggregate all indicators by sexual identity/behaviour, age, gender, ethnicity, deprivation, disability, rurality and refugee/migrant status’ becoming feasible to monitor under ‘Monitoring Goal 5: Increased equity in relation to all HIV goals and objectives’ as part of Te Whatu Ora’s HIV Monitoring Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: The HIV Monitoring Plan, developed by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with Health New Zealand and the former Māori Health Authority, was published in June 2024. The Plan was developed to support and measure progress towards achieving the goals and targets of the National HIV Action Plan for Aotearoa New Zealand 2023–2030. Following publication of the HIV Monitoring Plan in June 2024, work has been underway to operationalise it. The first report on indicators in the HIV Monitoring Plan is expected to be completed mid-2025.
