1822 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What criteria was used to determine the travel ban on Israeli settlers and will this be extended to other individuals or groups perpetuating violence in the occupied Palestinian territories?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Government has imposed travel bans on individuals identified as having been involved in undermining the peace, security and stability of the occupied West Bank, including by committing acts of violence.
Officials are continuously assessing the situation, including considering whether other individuals meet the threshold for being added to the list. Additional individuals may be banned from travel to New Zealand if they are identified as being involved in extremist settler violence, or perpetration of or incitement to violence in the occupied West Bank.
