1821 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the action ‘Align core features of DHB Cognitive Impairment Pathways to reinforce a national approach, including integrating the Māori Assessment of Neuropsychological Abilities (MANA) tool in the assessment process and investigating health technology options for cognitive testing to arrive at a recommendation for national adoption’ under the objective ‘Support people living with dementia mate wareware and their family /whānau supporters/care partners to live their best possible lives’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Improving Dementia Mate Wareware Services in Aotearoa New Zealand Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, the National Cognitive Impairment HealthPathway, which includes the Māori Assessment of Neuropsychological Abilities tool, was made available for clinicians through all Community HealthPathway sites. I am further advised that Health New Zealand maintains the Cognitive Impairment Pathways on a three-year review cycle.
