Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: Approximately how many pages of communication, if any, has the Minister's department, if any, sent to the Ministry for Regulation - including correspondence, meeting requests, briefings and all other communication, across all communication channels including emails, text, and social media messages?

Hon Nicola Willis: The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) and the Ministry for Regulation (MfR) have communicated on a broad range of matters including: • establishment of MfR including transferring of the Government Regulatory Practice Initiative team from MBIE to MfR; • Regulatory Impact Analysis of regulatory proposals; • implementation of the Red Tape Portal; • regulatory capability building initiatives; and • improvements to the regulatory management system. Given the breadth of communication, the volume of correspondence cannot be calculated without significant resource investment.
