Hon Dr Deborah Russell to the Minister of Revenue: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received during the period between 22 December 2025 and 1 February 2026 (inclusive), listed by agency, title and date received?

Hon Simon Watts: I am advised that Inland Revenue publishes a monthly list of titles of advice to Ministers, by the middle of the month after the advice is provided. I refer the member to that list, which can be found here: https://www.taxpolicy.ird.govt.nz/publications. A list of briefings and reports received by my office from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and the Treasury are regularly published on their websites. It is my view that the application of additional resources to answer this and similar questions now is not a good use of taxpayer funds and therefore not in the public interest. One title received from the Ministry of Social Development is not in the public interest to release.
