1512 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Further to WPQ 51917 (2025) What criteria, if any, were used to decide whether existing WorkSafe Board members would be replaced or retained?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I made decisions based on advice from MBIE and my own assessment of the particular skills and experience needed on the Board to deliver my new direction for WorkSafe New Zealand. Shortlisting recommendations made by MBIE are skills and experience led, with candidate applications assessed against criteria outlined in the position description.
