Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, from the period 9 December 2024 to 24 January 2025, and how many roles, if any, could be affected?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that, from the period 9 December 2024 to 24 January 2025 (inclusive), the New Zealand Customs Service commenced one consultation process with employees regarding any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions. Five roles were affected.
