1491 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister for Resources: Is the Minister considering making it even easier to prospect for oil and gas exploration than it was prior to the 2018 Amendment which ended offshore oil and gas exploration?

Hon Shane Jones: None of the proposed CMA amendments will make it easier to prospect for oil and gas than prior to the 2018 amendments. The amendments being considered relate to exploration, not prospecting.
