1464 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What changes, if any, have been made since 2023 to strengthen the Government’s capability including workforce capability to respond to landslides and slips in light of recent extreme weather events?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that a range of agencies deal with landslides and slips depending on their location and possible impact on life, infrastructure and/or other property. I am also advised that since 2023, national‑level capability has been strengthened through improved science advice arrangements, including the establishment of dedicated Science Advisory Panels covering a range of hazards, including landslide expertise. The National Emergency Management Agency is a member of the Landslide National Advisory Group.
