1463 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What guidance or standards, if any, has the Government issued to local authorities regarding preparedness for, and response to, landslides and slips?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the National Emergency Management Agency has developed general advice on landslides that is available on its website. Earth Science New Zealand published updated Landslide Planning Guidance in 2024 primarily for planning, policy and building compliance staff in local councils.
