1462 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Education: What extra support, if any, is being provided for students at Sommerville school in Panmure while they wait for their school to be fixed?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have been advised that Ministry of Education (Ministry) officials met with the Sommerville School Board on 1 March 2024. Any immediate health and safety concerns at the school are being managed and a remediation and maintenance plan is being developed to address the condition of existing buildings while the redevelopment progresses. Areas of concern are not being used by students. I am assured that the redevelopment project remains a priority for the Ministry, and their property team are working with the Board to refine the design of the new buildings and progress the project as quickly as possible. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Question 1463 (2024).
