1459 (2024). Reuben Davidson to the Prime Minister: Is the Prime Minister aware of the use of Artificial Intelligence software to produce documents, briefings, answers to Written Questions, press releases, or responses to Official Information Act requests by any Ministerial offices?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: I am aware that some offices may use Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to produce transcripts of recorded interviews. Where appropriate, I embrace new technologies to support the smooth running of ministerial offices. Public sector agencies have issued guidance to help public service make informed decisions and manage the risks around the use of GenAI.
