1446 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, from the period 9 December 2024 to 24 January 2025, and how many roles, if any, could be affected?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries opened two consultations during the period of 9 December 2024 to 24 January 2025. One consultation proposed minor changes to team leader roles within Corporate Services (no reduction in positions), and a consultation within New Zealand Food Safety proposed the disestablishment of a role due to the sudden closure of a meat plant. Both consultations were concluded within the period of 9 December 2024 to 24 January 2025.
