1408 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What support, if any, is MPI offering to wool sector groups in the development of an oversight group aimed at improving animal welfare standards?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is in the final stages of establishing an oversight group to support good animal welfare practice and continuous improvement in the shearing industry. The group will be made up of senior representatives from wool sector groups and be chaired by a senior MPI official.
