Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What advice, reports, briefings, aide memoires, or any other document, if any, has the Minister received from the Department of Internal Affairs regarding the "20,000 tips regarding potential child exploitation material in New Zealand"?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am regularly updated on how the Digital Child Exploitation Team is doing and any changes in that area of the Department. On 19 February 2024, the Department provided me with one media release, ‘DCET Proactive Media Coverage Campaign 2024’, regarding the 20,000 illegal material referrals that the member refers to.
