1381 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Health: How is the Minister addressing, if at all, workforce burnout that arises from managing complexity in the health system?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will be aware, since 2023, Health New Zealand has employed around 2,000 additional nurses and hundreds of additional doctors. Further to this, our Government has announced a number of measures to strengthen the primary care workforce. This is all part of our focus on building a healthcare system that has patients at its centre.
