1374 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: What, if anything, is the Minister doing to address Wairarapa's lack of any resident psychiatrist and its high suicide rate?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand utilises telehealth technologies and online video conferencing (AVL). This has enhanced the Wairarapa Community Mental Health Team’s ability to offer psychiatry appointments to clients. I am further advised that Health NZ is advertising to recruit professionals qualified and trained to support those with mental health, addiction, and/or intellectual disability issues.
