1359 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Agriculture: How, if at all, does MPI ensure pay equity within the organization, especially at senior leadership levels?

Hon Todd McClay: MPI has several ways of ensuring that pay equity and gender equity are prioritised across the organisation and at all levels, including senior leadership levels. These encompass existing policy, process, and programmes. I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has continued to make good progress in reducing the gender pay gap, from 7.1 percent in June 2023 to 5.8 percent in June 2024. MPI continues to have no statistically significant pay gaps for employees in like-for-like roles.
