1357 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Agriculture: How, if at all, does the Minister justify cuts to the Māori partnerships and Investments team of 12.6 FTE?

Hon Todd McClay: The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) were not asked to make cuts rather as part of Budget 2024, they were directed to find annual baseline savings through efficiencies from the start of the 2024/25 financial year. MPI was responsible for decisions on how to deliver those savings and they have confirmed that no reductions to frontline services or statutory roles were made as part of this process.
