1349 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Housing: Is MBIE required to submit a summary of actual expenditure in order to receive funding from the RTTA at the end of each year, and if so what are the summaries of expenditure for 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24?
Hon Chris Bishop: MBIE is not required to submit a summary of actual expenditure in order to receive funding from the RTTA at the end of each year. MBIE follow the standard required reporting for appropriations, including CFISnet submissions and annual reporting. Appropriation management, per the Public Finance Act 1989 and applies to the Residential Tenancy Services appropriation, which the interest from the RTTA funding is used for. The amount of the appropriation and amount funded by the interest from the RTTA and Crown are approved before expenditure. The annual audited financial statements for the Residential Tenancy Service appropriation can be found in the Annual reports. https://www.mbie.govt.nz/about/who-we-are/corporate-publications/annual-reports
