1344 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Housing: What is the policy basis of the balance of interest revenue generated by the RTTA being returned to the Crown once MBIE has been paid their amount?

Hon Chris Bishop: Section 127(7) of the RTA sets out that all interest, dividends and other gains arising from any investment of the Residential Tenancies Trust Account belong to the Crown and is treated as departmental revenue.
