Hon Nicole McKee: I expect the Ministry of Justice, as part of its regular policy process, will refer to a range of information to inform their advice to me. As Associate Minister of Justice with responsibility for firearms, I have taken the paper, Firearms Prohibition Orders Legislation Amendment Bill: Approval for Introduction, to Cabinet Committee. This was informed by election policies of the current government and the coalition agreement.
