1306 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Associate Minister of Justice: Does the Minister consider that people with extremist views should be prevented from obtaining semi-automatic weapons, and if so, what action, if any, will she take to prevent such people from obtaining these weapons?

Hon Nicole McKee: The firearms licencing system determines the fit-and-proper status of firearms licencing applicants. This Government has committed to a number of actions for firearms reform. These include actions to prevent firearms from falling into the wrong hands.
