1254 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Space: What actions has the Minister taken, if any, to ensure that licensees’ operations under the Outer Space and High Altitude Activities Act are consistent with NZ’s international obligations?

Hon Judith Collins: Under the Outer Space and High-Altitude Activities Act I am responsible for deciding whether or not to grant payload permits, launch licences and high-altitude licences. As part of this decision, under Section 17 (1)(c) of the Act I must be satisfied that the proposed operation is consistent with New Zealand’s international obligations.
