1245 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: Has any correspondence received by him raised concerns about organised or coordinated interference in the Papatoetoe subdivision of the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board election; if so, what were those concerns?

Hon Simon Watts: Yes, I have received correspondence about organised or coordinated interference in the Paptoetoe subdivision of the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board Election, concerns included: 1. Registered electors not receiving their voting papers/ theft of voting paper allegations; 2. Votes being listed as cast despite registered electors not having cast such votes; and 3. Persons voting decisions being unduly influenced.
