1240 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister of Conservation: Does the Minister agree with Minister Shane Jones that "NZ needs to get back to drilling and mining" and if so, does he support new mines on public conservation land?

Hon Tama Potaka: Mining is currently permitted on two thirds of public conservation land. Any application to mine on public conservation land is guided by the requirements in the Crown Minerals Act 1991.
