1217 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Is the Minister considering using powers to direct regional councils who notify their freshwater regional plans in 2024 to change their plans?

Hon Penny Simmonds: We have been very clear that the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management will be reviewed and replaced in this term of Parliament – and that it would be unwise to spend ratepayers’ money to continue to progress plan changes at this time given freshwater management will be subject to change. I am considering a range of options that are available to me.
