1212 (2026). Reuben Davidson to the Minister for Digitising Government: What specific problems or deficiencies in existing public service digital arrangements is the Government Digital Delivery Agency intended to address?

Hon Judith Collins: The Government Digital Delivery Agency will continue the work undertaken by the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO). The Agency’s Functional Chief Executive will provide dedicated leadership for the function and the digitising government work programme. The location of the Government Digital Delivery Agency within the Public Service Commission will give the work programme ready access to central agency levers and influence. Of the central agencies, the functions fit best with the Commission’s mandate, to drive public service performance and its implementation of the public service operating model.
