1199 (2026). Reuben Davidson to the Minister for Digitising Government: What functions of the Government Digital Delivery Agency duplicate or overlap with functions currently performed by departmental chief information officers, departmental chief digital officers, the Treasury digital investment assurance processes, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment procurement functions, or Public Service Commission functional leadership roles?
Hon Judith Collins: The establishment of the Government Digital Delivery Agency will continue the work undertaken by the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO). The GCDO role is a distinct functional and system leadership role which provides alignment across digital functions and roles across government and works in alignment with other system/functional lead roles. As the work of the Government Digital Delivery Agency evolves, I expect that other functions will continue to work with the GCDO/ Government Digital Delivery Agency to work through any potential overlap in functions that may emerge.
