1195 (2026). Reuben Davidson to the Minister for Digitising Government: What digital investment, delivery, or operational functions will remain the responsibility of individual agencies and not be controlled or directed by the Government Digital Delivery Agency?
Hon Judith Collins: Existing digital investment, delivery, and operational functions are expected to remain with agencies, with agencies required to align with the All-of-Government direction set by the Government Chief Digital Officer (a functional leadership role which will be held by the CE of the Government Digital Delivery Agency). As is currently the case, the GCDO will provide a range of digital procurement services for agencies, through providing Common Capabilities such as the Govt.nz App. Over time, some functions may transition to the Government Digital Delivery Agency as the new approach to government’s digital investment and procurement is built out.
