950 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: How many WorkSafe staff, expressed in full-time equivalent positions, were allocated to the administration and operation of the Road Cone Digital Hotline?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that work arising from the road cone hotline pilot was largely managed by integrating it into existing WorkSafe New Zealand resources and operations. No full-time equivalent (FTE) positions at WorkSafe were dedicated to the pilot, but two six-month full-time contract roles were initially established to assist with the implementation of the pilot. From 15 August 2025 this was reduced to one full-time contract position supporting the processing and triaging of notifications and the day-to-day operation of the road cone hotline pilot. The pilot was also supported by three permanent staff who also managed other projects across WorkSafe. WorkSafe did not require these staff to track hours worked on the pilot and cannot provide an estimate.
