936 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Associate Minister of Finance: What analysis, if any, has he received about how funding the Roads of National Significance programme would impact the Crown’s ability to fund other sectors such as health, education, and defence?

Hon Chris Bishop: As the Associate Minister of Finance, I receive advice as part of the Budget process on the trade-offs involved in allocating funding across different sectors, including analysis of fiscal constraints, opportunity costs, and the broader economic and social impacts of investment decisions.
