Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between 1 December and 31 December 2024 there were 614 National Gang List validated patched or prospect gang members recorded in police custody records. Please note that some individuals may have been in custody multiple times within the month. These exclude custodies on behalf of other agencies but may include custodies in relation to an alleged offence as well as those where people are taken into Police custody for care and protection. Please note that gang information is snapshot data, and some of these individuals may not have been gang members at the time of custody, and conversely, there may have been people who were gang members at the time of custody but are no longer recorded as gang members. Data in this response is drawn from a dynamic operational database and is subject to change as new information is recorded or updated.
