768 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What steps, if any, has the New Zealand government taking to defend women, human rights activists, the Bahá’ís and other religious and ethnic minorities in Iran?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: New Zealand has taken a range of actions in response to the human rights situation in Iran, including suspending high-level bilateral engagement mechanisms, co-sponsoring several joint statements and United Nations resolutions, and ceasing tariff preferences for Iran. New Zealand has also expressed concerns directly to Iran, and imposed travel bans on 55 Iranian officials connected with human rights violations.
