716 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Sport and Recreation: What actions, if any, has the Minister's departments or agencies, if any, made in implementing the updated Flexible Working (Work From Home) Guidance?

Hon Mark Mitchell: A review of Sport New Zealand Groups Flexible Working Policy has been undertaken and is shortly up for approval by the Group Executive Team. The policy already contained guidelines on the approval process for working remote, including Managers being accountable for closely managing and monitoring working from home arrangements to ensure ongoing performance and productivity. Following the review of the updated guidance, the previous PSC ‘flexible by default’ position has been removed from the policy. Sport NZ will be implementing reporting procedures to more formally monitor and measure adherence to the policy so that we can report on the number of employees regularly working from home and the preferred days of the week they normally work.
