704 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Has he sought any advice from his officials about the number of additional social houses needed to address social housing need in New Zealand and if so, what did that advice say?

Hon Chris Bishop: I regularly receive advice from Officials about social housing. The recently published Investment Plan (https://www.hud.govt.nz/news/new-housing-investment-plan) provides extensive advice on social housing need and outlines the Government’s response to that advice.
