682 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What standard, if any, of training does the Minister expect to be satisfactory for the security staff employed over the 'busy Christmas and New Year period'?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora worked with existing providers of security services to source the additional security staff. At a minimum, these security officers would be expected to be trained in basic conflict and de-escalation, inducted in Health & Safety site requirements, provided with standard operating procedures and inducted in the local security operational environment.
