669 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What actions, if any, has the Minister's departments or agencies, if any, made in implementing the updated Flexible Working (Work From Home) Guidance?
Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission has not taken any action to implement the updated Flexible Working (Work from Home) Guidance. It has undertaken a review of its current Flexible Work Policy to see where there may or may not be alignment with the guidance for further discussion with Executive Leadership Team. In relation to New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), I have been advised NZQA has reviewed the Flexible Working (Work from Home) Guidance in conjunction with the existing policy. Work is underway to update the NZQA policy to align to this guidance. This work will be completed in conjunction with the PSA across the next quarter. Regarding the Ministry of Education, I refer the Member to the Minster of Education’s response to written parliamentary question 254 (2025). I am advised that Education New Zealand is reviewing its Flexible Working and Flexible Leave policy in response to the updated guidance.
