Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: What work, if any, has Kāinga Ora undertaken with the Ministry of Social Development to reduce the number of whānau in emergency housing since 1 July 2025 and what advice, if any, has Kāinga Ora provided about its ability to place more people from emergency housing?

Hon Tama Potaka: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me it worked with the Ministry of Social Development to operationalise the Priority One category for Emergency Housing. The focus for Kāinga Ora was ensuring that the fast track was successfully established and the intended outcomes were achieved.
