634 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Finance: Has the Cabinet Paper that looks at allowing more overseas investment for build-to-rent housing gone through cross-party consultation, and if so, on what date was it sent?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Coalition Government announced our 100-day plan on 29 November 2023, which included a commitment to “take policy decisions to amend the Overseas Investment Act 2005 to make it easier for build to rent housing to be developed in New Zealand”. The build to rent Cabinet paper was circulated for Ministerial consultation on 24 January.
