621 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Further to his reply to Question 57396 (2025), how does Kāinga Ora accurately manage and report on its sales activities if sales price information is not recorded centrally and cannot be provided?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises that different business groups at Kāinga Ora sell property for different business purposes. Sale prices of all individual transactions can be provided but there is no business requirement to have these centrally recorded. Depending on the nature of the sale, funds are likely to be treated differently. Information from different systems is amalgamated for reporting, but these are not necessarily optimal for replying to one off queries. Following Cabinet’s approval of the Technology Modernisation Programme in late 2025, Kāinga Ora is currently modernising its technology environment.
