581 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What actions, if any, has the Minister's departments or agencies, if any, made in implementing the Cabinet Office Circular titled Needs-Based Service Provision?

Hon Louise Upston: The requirements set out in paragraph 8 of Cabinet Office Circular (24) 5 were followed in the provision of advice to Ministers on the extension of services and supports for households in emergency housing. As part of Budget 2024, funding for services and supports for households in emergency housing was approved for a further two years – until 30 June 2026. These services and supports provided by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) assist households in emergency housing to obtain sustainable housing. They are crucial to meeting the Government target of 75 percent fewer households in emergency housing by 2030. An evaluation of these services and supports is currently being undertaken by the Ministry and will be reported to Ministers later in 2025.
