578 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, newly built social homes that were funded in Budget 2024 does he expect will be delivered by 30 June 2026 and how does that number breakdown by build to own and build to lease?

Hon Chris Bishop: Social housing places funded under Budget 2024 are expected to be delivered by June 2027. As at the end of November 2025, I am advised that for Budget 2024 and 2025 funded social housing places that were delivered, approved or under evaluation, 57 percent were build-to-own. In accordance with Speaker's Ruling 210/6, I do not consider the time and expense of officials retrospectively calculating the percentages of Build-to-Own and build to lease at various times, or collating percentages from subsets of over 2,000 social housing places, to be in the public interest.
