553 (2024). Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: Does the Minister agree with former National Party Spokesperson for Animal Welfare Nicola Grigg that the Government should set up "gold standard" monitoring for live exports of animals; if so, for animals sent to China, would that monitoring oversee their voyages at sea, their quarantine period, and their transport to their final destinations across the country?"
Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Government has committed to ensuring the highest animal welfare standards when reintroducing livestock export by sea. Officials will provide more detailed advice and options on the design of these new standards as part of future policy work.
